47 Garema Pl, City ACT 2601, Australia Mill Café

6
This newcomer in Garema Place has less personality than its neighbours, but friendly staff and decent coffee (with a couple of different Australian-grown beans for you to choose from). The proprietor was thoughtful enough to ask how exactly I liked my d…

31 Giles St, Kingston ACT 2604, Australia Artespresso

One of Kingston’s finer restaurants, now open for breakfasts and the more casual coffee crowd. I popped in for a quick coffee, and was greeted with fast and friendly table service. I promptly received a bottle of water, and soon after, one of the finest…

139 Frome St, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia Funk Coffee + Food

5
Typical captive-audience, bottom-of-an-office-block café. Pretty good toasted sandwiches, drinkable but unremarkable coffee.

81-89 Hutt St, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia Bocelli Caffè Ristorante

6
Bocelli is a big, family-friendly Italian restaurant in the city, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week. Popped in for a coffee and got a milkier and foamier than usual short macchiato. To their credit though, the foam, milk and esp…

William Herbert Pl, City ACT 2601, Australia Biginelli Espresso

5
Biginelli occupies a large, open space on the top floor of the ANU School of Music. Coffee, sweets and light lunches on offer. I had quite a tasty piccolo latte, which was a little disappointing given that I ordered a short macchiato. An otherwise enjoy…

40 Marcus Clarke St, City ACT 2601, Australia Harvest

6
I’m in mixed minds about Harvest, another joint opened up by the Kibgston Grind/Tonic/Group Seven crowd, no doubt poised to take the custom of the workers in the soon to be opened office towers across the road. The baristas at Harvest display the same a…

Canberra Centre, Bunda St, City ACT 2601, Australia Gourmet City Deli

3
This place attempts to be a gourmet delicatessen, a take-lunch place, and a café, and only really succeeds at one or two of these. Average coffee and below average service.

167 Moss Vale Rd, Kangaroo Valley NSW 2577, Australia Kangaroo Valley Collections

The first impression is most favorable - upon entering this quaint little French homewares store, you are greeted with the smell of coffee. The coffee was well-made, as was the delicious cake that accompanied it.

45 Novar St, Yarralumla ACT 2600, Australia Yarralumla Bakery

1
What a disappointment. Burnt, bitter and over-extracted, too big, scalding hot macchiato. The first coffee in a long time I have had to leave unfinished. One sip and I was out of there. Quiche wasn’t bad, though.

22 Franklin St, Griffith ACT 2603, Australia Downtown Milkbar & Coffee Lounge

6
Travelling “downtown” to this old school milkbar in Manuka is like going back in time. The coffee here is pretty good, made with care by the old Italian barista. Food options here are simple but unique for the area: sandwich bar and grill. Also on offer…
