137 Darby St, Cooks Hill NSW 2300, Australia Goldbergs on Darby
Disappointingly average coffee, given the reputation and the friendly atmosphere. The kitchen may not be big enough for the venue. Will have to go back and try again – others rave about this place.
Hunter St & Watt St, Newcastle NSW 2300, Australia Sprocket Roasters
Outstanding vibe in this funky shop on the east end of Newcastle’s CBD. Quality coffee + a great selection of food. Juice + chinotto available, so your bases are covered. Plenty of magazines + foosball for entertainment too.
Vulcan St, Moruya NSW 2537, Australia Belnicc
Imposing stone building with a brick fireplace inside. Quality espresso served by a friendly person lurks within. Tasty breakfast also served, superior to most on the South Coast. Go there on a Saturday morning and explore the Moruya markets afterwards.
7 Lonsdale St, Braddon ACT 2612, Australia Italian & Sons
Flawless espresso served in an lovely thick-rimmed cup. Great service in an excellent brasserie environment
67 Duncan St, Braidwood NSW 2622, Australia Nambawan Coffee Haus
Just off the main road, definitely worth a look. They know what a doppio is and it came out warm and smooth: partner’s latté also reportedly good -and accompanies by a couple of smarties. Nice sandwiches also available and a range of South Pacific and A…

Lovely smooth doppio: rich, tasty. Extra star for ambience.
Flinders Way & Franklin St, Griffith ACT 2603, Australia Verve
Espresso was thin and delivered a minute or so too late. I’m sure it was nicer when it was first made. Or perhaps the cup was very cold to start with.
15 Blamey Pl, Campbell ACT 2612, Australia The Lanterne Rooms
Cup: warmed. Espresso: smooth. Presentation: excellent, with ceremony. Food is great too. OTOH, their website *sucks*: http://www.lanternerooms.com.au/
Kuttabul Pl, Acton ACT 2601, Australia Urban Food
Doppio looked good in the Duralex glass (hot to hold!), nice crema, a little gritty. Sacred Grounds beans are kinda yucky. Different beans pls.
15 Kennedy St, Kingston ACT 2604, Australia Velo Republic
First time I tried this place it was diabolical, but they’ve upped their game and the espresso is smooth, medium strong and served with good cheer. Recommended.
