1000 Pound Bend
Pretty average coffee and terrible service. Come here for the atmosphere and free wifi only
A favorite when I visit Melbourne. Coffee and a toastie for about $7 is the breakfast of champs. The furnishings pretty funky. The service is good and staff are friendly.
Super eclectic and grungy, but certainly not unwelcoming, 1000 £ Bend is as good a place as any in Melbourne to enjoy a fresh breakfast and a tasty coffee. $2.50 coffees between 8-10am are a nice deal too. Plenty of space to hang about and free wifi to boot.
Despite its wild interior this place is actually a cafe and does reasonable take-away coffee of a morning. At $2.50 it’s good value, but you’re probably better off coming here in the evening for a drink or a burger or just to hang out with the slightly grungier student crowd.
The furnishings are eclectic and they’ve been known to project reruns of Monkey Magic on the doors into the art gallery behind. Don’t bother trying to play any of their board games, as they’ve lost most of the pieces. The goldfish are quite friendly though.
